I can empathize with you. The tingling sensations you are feeling are likely caused by hyperventilation. My lips used to go numb, for example.
When I feel a panic attack coming on I start breathing through my diaphragm. If you haven’t already, check out diaphragmatic breathing. It really helps.
Hang in there!
one of the ways of treating panic attacks is medication, which can really help. i started medication for anxiety attacks at the end of last year, and they can really help. it just stops the attacks, so you can start focusing on building up self-confidence, maybe getting therapy…whatever you need to help yourself
sometimes talking to someone about things can really help. perhaps theres a counsellor you could talk to? ask your GP.
if theres maybe a particular situation that flares up the anxiety attacks, avoid it for a while, until you feel better.
i guess most of this is just common sense. its helped me, but i dont know what else to say. good luck!
BREATHE breathe in to the count of 8 hold for the count of 4 breathe out to the count of 8 using deep belly breaths and breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth repeat this four or five times it will auto matically calm you down by reducing the amount of adreniline in your system and increasing the amount of oxygen in your blood
watch the sopranos series.
tony soprano (the main carachter and the boss of the family) has them sometimes.
he also goes to his shrink all the time and she tells him what to do and ups his dose of prozac! lol
watch the series they are brilliant!!
the advice my partner was given by her gp was to hold your nose , cover the left eye and look straight down at your feet whilst in a sitting position. breath slowly and shallowly (the last bit may not be so easy but it did work)
Try the breathing,, Breath for 4 hold for 4 breath out for 4 hold for 4.. Stop teq is where you wear a rubber band around your wrist soon as you feel anxiety left the band an smack on the skin and say stop at the same time, or listernn to music or if your with people just talk, it takes your mind of the panic… good luck
If these attacks are frequent and persistent and affect your quality of life, a visit with your physician will probably net you a Rx for anti-anxiety medication.
why on earth would your hands tingle if having an anxiety attack.
that says you are conditioned to feel anxious when you have pins and needles.
1) Deepbreathe straight away. Focus on it – Count 9 breathing in and 9 breathing out – do it until the tingling subsides
2) Listen to music and focus on the music.
3) Go for a brisk walk – focus on what is around you – the beauty of the trees ; beauty of the flowers.
This stuff works - plain and simple: I to take it before my flights and it is what helped me overcome my fear of flying. Take this at the onset of stress or if you know you are going into a stressful situation such as a plane ride in my case.
Order it now that way you have it when you need it because you will regret not having it later.
