I do not have adhd. I began using adderall for school. Ive used it very few times inconsistently. Lately I have been having slight anxiety/panic attacks, maybe sleep apnea? (I have woken up 2 times from not breathing, not sure if i can label this sleep apnea), and i also began snoring in my sleep. I don’t know if all of these symptoms are relative to adderall but its worth a shot to ask. I am not sure if the cause of these attacks is due to stress from school, “life” in general, my lack of exercise and my increased reliance on fast food or if it is because of the adderall usage. What do you think it is?

ADHD Medications work by raising the brain chemical Dopamine, yes,if Dopa gets too high it can definitely cause anxiety, amoung other things.
And it is not a good idea to use anything that alters your brain chemicals on an on/off schedual, that in itself can cause issues, any type of “physc med” should be taken as prescribed, and Adderall to my knowledge is a daily RX,not an as-needed drug,be careful:-)
You need to go see the Doctor about these symptoms:-)
There are easier techniques to reduce weight as an alternative to dieting and exercise. You can have a diet supplement which flushes out the colon, you will reduce up to twenty lbs like this – and the weight comes off in the desired places too! There is a risk free trial at http://vulank.wellbeinglive.info
Has this been prescribed for you or are you taking someone else’s meds? If it’s yours then call the doctor or pharmacist. If not, stop taking it.
Considering how the medication works, its not only possible, but likely.
Adderall is a stimulant (and an amphetamine stimulant, at that).
The sleep apnea might be a side-effect of higher blood pressure, which can be caused by Adderall. It’s also possible that your blood pressure is going up because of your diet and your lack of exercise.
Panic attacks and anxiety attacks from Adderall? Very possible.
The bottom line here is that you are abusing — *abusing*, get it? — a stimulant drug that, if taken in quantity, could give you a heart attack or a stroke, and even if not taken in quantity, could get you addicted.
You’re asking from Yahoo Answers U.S.? Neat. Here’s an interesting fact — having Adderall without a prescription would mean, if you lived in the U.S., that you’d be in possession of a Schedule 2 controlled substance. Remember that business with Congress enacting minimum sentences? You could be looking at 16 months in an adult jail if a judge wanted to bust your balls.
Hey, I understand how you feel…
The uncomfortable symptoms like sweaty palms, “jelly” legs, extreme alertness, “impending doom” feeling and the fight-or-flight response.
I’ve been there. I’m an ex-victim. Sometimes the deep breathing or distraction techniques doesn’t work – a full-blown panic or anxiety attack happens later.
Sometimes you experience panic attack out of the blue and such.
Do NOT buy Panic Away, Linden Method, EasyCalm or the Panic Puzzle. They do NOT work – I’ve tried them and their solutions are similar – it DOESN’T WORK.
Medications do NOT work – I was under many antidepressants (Prozac, Lexapro, Paxil and Zoloft) and anti-anxiety medications (Ativan, Klonopin, and Xanax) but my condition was the same – no improvement at all.
The only program that really work is The Panic Attack Solution. It’s found by an ex-victim. You can check out his old blog in his official website to read up some useful tips.
But the package is the best – it teaches 17 powerful techniques and the real solution to panic attacks. I’ve bought it and it really helped me – it’s the BEST anti-anxiety package or book I’ve read.
His theory really makes sense and it works effectively!
You will learn why your panic attacks can happen without warning sometimes; why having stimulant causes panic attacks; and many-many other useful tips!
