I nearly did this morning, had 2 last night.
Glass of water, do you have ANY control of your breathing(?) if you do, seriously, i held my breath and it helped.
Go ahead and read my last question…it’s on that exact subject.
Yeah I take iron pills. Iron pills help regulate you heart beats as well as make you more active. If you are high tolerance to drugs take a shower it may decrease your anxiety.
deep breathing will help
relaxation techniques i.e. yoga, pilates…
I’m a living anxiety attack. This is why I drink to excess.
It happened to me when I was in college. I just talked to myself, telling myself to breathe slowly, everything will be ok, I’m not going to die. That kind of stuff. I feel for you. It’s an awful feeling.
No, i don`t know what one goes through .
Just take long breaths if u think it coming.
Cool drinks will help. Water is best.
Also don’t forget to stand under a shower on a daily basis. Water therapy. When water cools head and falls down the neck, it is stress relieving.
Do massage scalp before that. Then shampoo off.
Try it out for a week.
Best wishes.
Also do YOGA, Pranayam.
It is Yoga of breathing.
Will rid it.
This works for me—-hold a clear quartz crystal about 4 inches long in each the palm of each hand. Breathe slowly in through nose, out through mouth.
I get them and i just remind myself that everything is ok and that it is my mind doing this. Tell yourself that you are cool and good and you aint dying.
My wife has that effect on me. I just go outside & smoke a cig & then I don’t feel like B-Slapping her anymore.
As far as a “natural” way to calm it down… Nothing legal I could think of.
yup me 2 — i try not 2 self medicate
Yes,I suffer from anxiety attacks!! I’ve been on Zanax for a couple of years, but I’ve been gradually taking myself off them. To do this I’ve got the attitude no matter how I much I worry about things…whatever will be will be and there’s not much sense in worrying about things I have no control over!! Talking to a friend that can calm you down..helps alot but just don’t let worrying consume you. I think that for me my anxiety attacks are psychological and that knowing that a pill can get rid of it makes it easier to just “pop” a pill, but I’m learning to face my fears in a “real” way!!!! Good luck to you and if you ever need someone to talk to just email me!!!!
yes, i have had anxiety attacks in the past. they were usually brought on by an overwhelming feeling of sadness. i tired to focus on my breathing and ignore the thoughts. it was very difficult. at first, i could only focus on my breathing for a few seconds then i would breakdown again. but, eventually it did become easier because i would be so exhausted.
i would just find a nice quiet spot and breathe, just breathe. clears the mind when you concentrate on breathing.
Breathe in for 8 counts through you nose
Hold it for as long as you can
Release the air slowly through you mouth for 10 counts
Repeat several times, and it will calm you, I guarantee it.
I have alot of them, but I just sit there and meditiate, wherever I am…
my brother was told by his gp to think of a happy place where u are completely camn and protected. it could be a beach u frequented when u were little…a relatives house…somewhere u ‘ve never been. conjure up this place when you are calm, so the next time u feel an attack coming on , u can ‘visit’ this pkace to help calm u down. deep breathing should also help. go to your local library and see what books you can get, u may also be able to get free counselling from your local health board. Good luck =D
Only when I’m low on brew….
Yes, I’m having one right now, matter-of-fact. Very painful if I do say so. It’s hard to breathe, I shake in a spaz way, and my heart hurts. Not fun…
My therapist says to close your eyes and breathe in and out while thinking of rocking. Like rocking in a chair, or swaying in a hammock. She says the moving helps relax you. I’m not sure if it works. I tried it but I’m just in so much pain it’s kind of hard to do. Maybe you’ll have better look.
Yes, I get them when I am indoors a lot….I love the great outdoors!
I use to but now I have medicine for it. and now I just take the meds and it helps me.
