I’ve been having panic attacks for a month now and my doctor referred me to a psychiatrist but it wont be for another three months that i will get an appointment. Can I ask the doctor to prescribe anti-anxiety medications?
I only get panic attacks when I’m in a crowded place.

Your regular general practitioner is the first person to contact. He can diagnose and treat or if necessary refer you to someone more specialized.

How do I find those things that I feel passionate about and want to work with? I am surrounded by stress and live in a place that makes be depressed but I cannot just leave. I have children and I am married many years back. I love my kids. They make me feel better.However I take medication for stress and anxiety attacks. I have tried everything, exercise, reading books, gone to seminars etc etc but still I am so unhappy.
I’m “stuck” and need advice!

Anxiety attacks, known as panic attacks in mental health circles, are episodes of intense panic or fear. Anxiety attacks usually peak within ten minutes, and they rarely last more than a half hour. But during that short time, the
terror can be so severe that you feel as if you’re about to die or totally lose control.
The physical symptoms are themselves so frightening that many people believe they’re having a heart attack. After an anxiety attack is over, you may be worried about having another one, particularly in a public place where help isn’t available or you can’t easily escape.
Symptoms of an anxiety attack include:
* Surge of overwhelming panic
* Feeling of losing control or going crazy
* Heart palpitations or chest pain
* Feeling like you’re going to pass out
* Trouble breathing or choking sensation
* Hyperventilation
* Hot flashes or chills
* Trembling or shaking
* Nausea or stomach cramps
* Feeling detached or unreal
The term “nervous breakdown” is used by the public to characterize a wide range of mental illnesses. Nervous breakdown is not a medical term and doesn’t indicate a specific mental illness. Generally, the term describes a person who is severely and persistently emotionally distraught and unable to function at his or her normal level.
Often, when people refer to having a nervous breakdown, they’re describing severe depression. Signs and symptoms of severe depression include:
* Agitation or restlessness
* Difficulty or inability to stop crying
* Sleeping difficulties
* Dramatic appetite changes
* Indecision

My boyfriend has anxiety that he is on meds for, but he still occasionally has a panic attack (heart racing, dizziness, passing out, etc). I am just wondering what I should do when this happens when I am with him. I asked him, but i want him to know that i am there for him and to make him feel better as much as I can because I know he is embarrassed and scared. He had one at dinner last nite, and I felt completely helpless because I didn’t know how to get his mind off of it or talk him thru it. I want him to know I’m here for him and he is going to be okay, but I also don’t want to overwhelm him or make him feel more uncomfortable than he already does. Any suggestions, or does anyone actually have panic attacks that could share what helps calm them? thanks

Natural Panic Attack Relief

This stuff works - plain and simple: I to take it before my flights and it is what helped me overcome my fear of flying. Take this at the onset of stress or if you know you are going into a stressful situation such as a plane ride in my case.

Order it now that way you have it when you need it because you will regret not having it later.
