I’ve developed a severe panic disorder (lots of panic attacks and general anxiety) over the past couple months that seems unusual to me. I’m seeking therapy for it and the medication I’ve been put on for it, Xanax, hasn’t been helping me. I’m considering taking an SSRI the doctor recommends but I don’t know if it will help either. Does this stuff typically go away on it’s own or am I just stuck with this?
Recently, I have begun to experience anxiety attacks that take place while I’m sleeping. I am not having them during waking hours, and they don’t seem to be inspired by nightmares. I just wake up with my heart racing, my chest tight, feelings of anxiety that force me to fully wake, etc. I have to stay awake for about an hour to feel better before I can go back to sleep. Why is this happening, and what can I do about it?
I have been having panic attacks a lot lately. I have seen a doctor and was put on some medication. When I have panic attack I seem to hyperventilate a lot. Is there a way to stop panic attacks but if not how can I stop the hyperventilation?
Im 17 and going through depression and Im quite young, so its not like Im a 50 year old on meds. There is a different. (Not to offend anyone.) My depression has been killing me. I can’t take it anymore…everything is so scary and dull. All I think about is death, constantly all the time.
I have a therapist but it only helps so much.
Medication you gain weight, it stores in your body and I heard you have increased thoughts of suicide?
