I have had very mild anxiety, everyone does. However, my beloved 91 year old Granma passed away in March, she was ready to let go and I miss her. I accepted her passing with sadness. THEN, my 74 yo mother had a heart attack from the stress a week later. When I left the hospital and started driving, I had a (what I now know) massive anxiety attack behind the wheel, I was thinking I was going to die on the side of the road alone, 3 generations dead in a week. I ended up in the emergency dept myself that day!
Now I accept Granmas passing but miss her dearly, Mum survived but had stents put into her heart. I am having these attacks daily. I have like a separation anxiety when my hubby is out or at work, not that I dont trust him, I dont want to be alone. I am avoiding driving because that can set them off. I feel like I am going to pass out but fortunately, never have. I have recurring labyrinthitis which doesnt help so that teamed with the anxiety attacks are destroying my life.

2 years ago I Snorted a bunch of aterol then smoked some meth, a couple hours later, i laid down to sleep, but couldn’t so I got up and everything went dark and i started to have a seizure. I went to the hospital and they gave me some meds to get the stuff out of my system and slow my heart. A few weeks later I took some lexapro with beer. A few hours later I started to have an anxiety attack. I went to the hospital and found out that I had an eratic hart beat and they had to slow it down with an ivy and meds. Ever since then I have been having anxiety attacks. Not every day, but once in awhile. I thought my heart wasn’t beating right and the dr. said that all the adrenaline my brain was releasing was causing me to have a split heart beat. He perscribed me paxil. I took it one day and started freaking out. I had a major anxiety attack. So I never took it again. I have such a phobia of those types of meds so I can’t take them. any help? i dont do illegal drugs anymore or drink or smoke.

1. Seek the company of positive people and places. Don’t let yourself be sucked into the depression loop.

3. Harness the power of the mind. It is capable of a lot more than people give it credit for. Creativity and spirituality are positive recourses to keep the mind occupied and the energy flow uninhibited.
4. Regular exercise (including yoga) is beneficial for preventing panic attacks, as it helps increase the production of ‘feel-good’ chemicals called endorphins in your brain. Aim to do half an hour of exercise a day, such as going for a brisk walk or swimming, to reduce the likelihood of an attack.
5. Pay special attention to your diet. What you eat directly reflects in how you react and deal with situation. Fish oil rich in Omega-3 fatty acids are a must-have, and so do herbal remedies like Bacopa Monnieri and Valerian.
6. Lastly, de-stress and let go whenever you can. There’s only one life to live so live it the best you can.

Ok, school is starting tomorrow and this summer I have been dealing with anxiety and panic attack problems that were brought on by a medication I was taking. I went to the doctor and am now on Lexapro for my anxiety problems. I have been on the meds for 2 weeks and feel a little better and a little more in control but I am still having some problems. Anytime I am in a crowded area like a store and forced to stay for some reason or another I have a panic attack. Now that I am on the medicine I am in a little more control so the panic isn’t as severe, but since school is starting I know I am going to be stuck in a classroom and I am worrying that the panic is going to return. My biggest issue is that when I panic I feel like I am going to be sick so that makes me worry more, even though I never do actually get sick. I am taking nexium for my stomach aches but was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to deal with the feeling sick when in a public place and unable to get away. Thanks.
